Concrete Art

May 23, 2013

The term “Concrete Art” was first introduced by Theo van Doesburg in the 1930s and was later referred to as “Concretism”.

The movement evolved in the 1940s and 1950s through the work of the groups Movimento d’arte concreta (MAC) and Escape.

Concrete seems like an unlikely material for artwork, but it is ideal since it is inexpensive, readily available, and when made correctly, is hard and durable, both inside and out.
